Mrs. Iquo Edet Iyo was among the four individuals who faced a tragic fate, being accused of witchcraft and subsequently lynched in Ndon Nwong village, Okurikang, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria.
The distressing incident unfolded on October 12, 2022, as reported by Crossriverwatch, when a young boy confessed to the killing of his uncle involved in a recent motorcycle accident. This confession led to the arrest of nine individuals, including Mrs. Iquo Edet. Shockingly, five of them lost their lives during this ordeal. While other individuals were freed after they admitted to still holding many youths in spiritual bondage. Unfortunately, Mrs. Iquo Edet's death was later acknowledged as a case of mistaken identity.
