Khadi4TheAged Receives NExA 2025 Humanitarian Award

We are proud to share that our founder, Ms. Khadijah Sofo (DeejayKhadi), has been honored with the NExA 2025 Humanitarian Innovator Award for Gender, Culture & Community Impact at the 7th Northern Excellence Awards (NExA) Gala held in Tamale, Ghana.

Though she couldn’t be physically present at the event, the recognition was deeply felt by all of us at Khadi4TheAged and beyond.

This award is not just a personal honor — it is a recognition of the shared mission we carry as a team and a community.

More Than an Award — A Moment of Meaning

This moment is a reminder that the elderly matter. That every voice we raise, every elder we support, every harmful cultural practice we challenge, is making a difference.

At Khadi4TheAged, our mission has always been simple: to ensure the elderly are treated with dignity, respect, and care. We work to improve their daily lives financially, emotionally, and socially because we believe that no one should be forgotten in their old age.

Through our outreach programs and education campaigns, we’ve fought to end dangerous stigmas especially witchcraft accusations against elderly women in regions like Kafaba. We've supported community-based caregiving, offered health and emotional relief, and stood up for seniors who are often left behind.

This award tells us what we’ve always known: this work is necessary, and it must continue.
