Khadija Sofo

Founder

Sofo Khadija is a passionate advocate for the elderly and the founder of Khadi4TheAged, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting, supporting, and educating communities about the challenges faced by older individuals.

Born and raised in Damongo, Ghana, she grew up witnessing the struggles of the elderly, particularly women, who were often mistreated, abandoned, or falsely accused of witchcraft. Her deep connection with her mother and grandmother shaped her awareness of these injustices from an early age.

After moving to the United States, Khadija dedicated over a decade to researching dementia and other aging-related conditions, realizing that a lack of awareness often fuels harmful superstitions and elder abuse. Determined to change this narrative, she established Khadi4TheAged to provide relief, advocacy, and education, ensuring that elderly individuals—especially vulnerable women—receive the dignity, respect, and care they deserve.

Beyond her nonprofit work, Khadija is a certified professional DJ in New Jersey and an entrepreneur, balancing her passion for entertainment with her commitment to social change. She holds a degree in Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality Management and is pursuing further studies in Human Rights to expand her impact.

Through Khadi4TheAged, she continues to drive meaningful change, challenging harmful traditions and fostering a culture where the elderly are valued and protected.
